Chef Masa of Waraji brings an authentic Japanese restaurant to the Triangle. After being voted "Best in the Triangle" in the category of sushi for countless years, Masa decided to branch out on his own and provide the culinary treasures of Japan in a relaxed and intimate environment. Fans of Waraji Japanese Restaurant call the sparsely decorated dining room "minimalist." Detractors call it empty. Both, however, seem to agree that the quality of the sushi at Waraji is unsurpassed and the prices reasonable. Though located in a strip mall near the airport, Waraji somehow attracts well-dressed yuppies who come to feed on traditional Japanese fare.
